Join us for the Tulip Time 5K Run/Walk as we come together for something bigger than ourselves. We’re forming Team Shone Yehiwot Berhan in partnership with Children’s HopeChest, raising funds to build a latrine and showers for children and families—bringing dignity, health, and hope to a community in need. Our goal is to raise $10,000 as a group.

Whether you’re running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, this is a chance to make an impact beyond Holland.

How to Join the Team

Step 1: Register for the Tulip Time Run

Sign up for the Tulip Time 5K Run/Walk here. (Cost is $40/person)

Step 2: Choose Our Team

In the Tulip Time Run registration, select the option to participate with a group and choose

“Team Shone Yehiwot Berhan.”

Step 3: Set Up Your Fundraising Page

Go to Children's Hope Chest here and choosing “Team Yehiwot – Central Wesleyan Church.”

You’ll be asked to:

• Provide your contact information
• Upload a photo
• Share why you’re excited to be part of this team. Feel free to use copy/paste the following!  I’m excited to join the Shone Team to help raise funds for latrines and showers at the CarePoint. These practical resources make a real difference by promoting health, dignity, and hope for children and families in the Shone, Ethiopia community.
• Provide how much you’d like to help raise (suggested goal is $300)

What Happens Next 

Children’s HopeChest will create a personal fundraising page for you. You can easily share it with friends and family or post it on social media to help us reach our goal of funding a latrine for this community.

Those who fundraise will receive a t-shirt from Children's Hope Chest (shirt pick up will be at Central and available before the race—you'll get an email from us with details)
