I need prayers for help with just making it right now as I am struggling financially and looking for a second job. I have been so depressed and not able to get out of bed besides to go to work and to drive my kids 30 mins to school and then pick them up. I just need prayers badly to get myself out of this funk I'm in. Pray for Norm who went into Zeeland Hospital on Saturday. He could not get around by himself, he was not himself and had a temperature. I had to call 911 for help 3 different times. When he got into the hospital, they found out he had pneumonia and a very big swollen area above his right knee. This really concerned the doctors. They drew fluid out of the swollen spot and found he is on verge of going septic infection. At 4 pm they are doing a procedure to try to get all of this fluid out.

Kevin Clark (kidney transplant recipient) was recovering well until last night when he went into AFIB. Jane called 911 and he was admitted to the hospital. The cardiologist thinks this was due to the extra strain his Kevin's heart and adjusted his BP meds. This may resolve over time, or Kevin might have to live with an increased heart rate. Pray that Kevin can get off of the Heparin drop today so he can be released from the hospital and that his heart rate returns to normal. Thank you!

Last year in May, my mother Carol Ewing had a stroke. We learned that she still had a hole in her heart, something she was born with. A Dr. told her 22 years ago that it was gone, which was false, she had a mini stroke back in 2005. After wearing a heart monitor for about the last 6 months, they said she needs heart surgery to close the hole. It's scheduled for Sept. 8th. Pray all goes well. For her to heal well afterwards. And have little to no anxiety about it beforehand.

Marti Smith traveled to Maryland to visit her granddaughters on Saturday and suddenly fell very sick. They went to the ER on Sunday and discovered a 7 mm kidney stone and was in ICU. They installed a stent to remove the infection. She is now feeling pretty well. The stone will be dealt with later when she gets back home on August 22. Please keep her in your prayers for rest, strength, healing, and safe travels.

The chemo did what was expected, and the Dr is says the cancer is in remission. He expects it to return at some point, but it could be months, a year or more. Jon will continue to have scans every 3 months. When/if it comes back there are new drugs that are available & 2 new clinical trials.

UPDATE: Initial diagnosis from my sister in law's biopsy is that what started as ovarian cancer has spread to the abdominal wall. Statistics show 1-3 years. Treatment will need to be much more aggressive. Her next doctors appointment is on 2/10 and we should know more then.
